Inspirations

Arnold George Dorsey, aka Engelbert Humperdinck, MBE, led me to write poetry after reading his poem entitled, "Faith." He wrote this poem for his late wife Patricia, who was then suffering from Alzheimer's Disease. His simple, yet profound words helped me through a very dark period in my life and inspired me to begin writing.  (Photo Credit: EH Productions, Inc.

Family is the most important thing. My husband was an awesome father whose unconditional love for our kids, made me a better parent. Unfortunately, we lost him far too soon, but he will always be remembered with love. Our two children, are now talented, responsible adults but I will always remember their positivity and encouragement through the toughest of years. Their love is my greatest gift. I have to mention our little fur-baby, Cookie. He literally licked away our tears and his constant smile kept us laughing. He and my husband are so very missed.

Julie Pietrzak, taught me so very much about writing and patience. As my secretary, Julie was a whiz with words and always made my correspondence look and sound better than it actually was. More importantly though, Julie was a wonderful friend. Together we’d laugh whether forging through mountains of files in a musty old basement or just enjoying a coffee.  As we worked, she taught me British words and phrases such as “ladders,” “lifts,” “tele,” and “boot.” Now many years later, I so enjoy getting a “ring” or "post" from my lovely friend Julie.
